Repair Center vs. User Views
Preferences are initially set globally for each Repair Center. There are preferences that can only be set at the repair center-level. However, many preferences can be further personalized for individual users. It is important to understand the relationship between settings made at the repair center-level and personal settings made for each user.
-
If no custom setting is designated for the user, the setting established for their repair center is always in effect. Each time a repair center preference is changed, it will be in effect in both the repair center- and user-view.
-
If a personal designation is made for the user, this setting is used regardless of whether further changes are made to the corresponding repair center preference.
For example, if the user preference for Records Per Page is set to 15, fifteen records will always be displayed, regardless of what the setting indicates for their repair center. Even if the repair center preference for Records Per Page is later changed to Browser Height (BH), this setting will be ignored, as a user preference for the default value of 15 has been designated. The user preference always supersedes the repair center preference.
The settings made for the repair center are displayed when this view is chosen, regardless of whether or not a specific user preference has been established.
If a change to a repair center setting does not seem to be implementing as expected, check to see if a user preference is superseding the repair center designation. The user preference will have to be changed to ensure the desired effect.
